Archie Robinson Jr.

Archie Robinson Jr. “Be-Sheez” passed away on October 18, 2023 in Duluth, MN. He was born in Cass Lake, MN on June 25, 1959 to parents, Archie Sr. & Loretta (Tuttle). He was a lover of music, family, and friends. Archie had an appreciation for the simple things in life. Constantly exploring his surroundings, he loved spending time in the park and his weekly breakfast at Uncle Lois. Always humble but rarely silent. His vast knowledge combined with quick whit gave him a wicked sense of humor. The best word to describe him is a “character”, or maybe “trouble”. He was a brilliant man. Throughout his life Archie amassed an impressive collection of books, he would eventually share with his grandchildren in “Grandfathers Library”. He would even read the dictionary for fun. He had brawn to match his brains. He was a star athlete while in High School in Deer River. He was an auto mechanic and loved working on cars with his brother, Owen. Above all things, Archie was a family man. His children and grandchildren meant the world to him, and he will be missed by all.

Archie is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Elise, Donna, Mary, Delores, Cynthia, and Carol; brothers, Owen & William; daughter, Rose Mary Washington; and wife, Jodi Robinson (Herbsleb-Schaffer). He is survived by his children, Jackie Abshire, Annette (Jesse) Smith, Tawnya Herbsleb, Travis (Kat) Herbsleb, Winona Bellanger, and Colin Rushman; grandchildren, Donelle, William, Michael, MaKayla, Jennifer, Grace Lynne, Josiah, Victoria, and Justin; siblings, Edna Robinson, Alice & Charles May; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.

VISITATION: Friday, October 20, 2023 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. in Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E Second Street, Duluth, MN 55805. And continues at 5:00 p.m. at the Inger Community Center, 53736 County Rd 146 Inger, MN 56636.
