Anna, age 93, passed away on October 27, 2023 in Duluth. She was born January 16, 1930 to parents Joseph and Anna (Mordish) Jelich in Marenisco, MI. Anna worked as a telephone operator, waitress, was owner and operator of Vera’s Restaurant in Woodland, and finished her working career in the Duluth Schools Food Service. Along the way she made many friends which she kept for a lifetime. Anna was very active in her community. She played volleyball for over 30 years in the city league, was a member of the Rice Lake Fire Dept. Women’s Auxiliary, volunteered for the Homecroft PTA, served as a Brownie leader, volunteered for the Red Cross and spent lots of time outdoors fishing, hunting, camping, and working in her yard.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Anna, her first husband Glen Endicott, her second husband Warren Balcom, her son Glen Endicott, step-grandson Kyle Balcom as well as all of her siblings.
She is survived by daughters Christine (Michael) Ferrazzi, and Cynthia (Jon Peterson) Endicott and step-sons Mark (Kathe) Balcom and Lance (Stacy) Balcom. Grandchildren Randeen, JodiBelle, Tony, Ryan, Clinton, Kelsey and Chad, 15 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews including special nephews Jim Sholar and Joe Jelich, and special friend Joan Seymour.
Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
