Andrew (Andy) L. Larrivy, 36 of Duluth, died peacefully Thursday, March 19th in his childhood home. Andy was born March 3rd, 1990 in Duluth to Nancy and Terry Larrivy.

Andy graduated from Denfeld High School where he played on the varsity soccer team. Andy earned an Associates Degree in Communications from Lake Superior College and attended the University of Wisconsin Superior. He worked many jobs including Sammy's Pizza, Grandma's Restaurant, and Dr Pepper as a sales manager. He was last working remotely as a graphic and web designer.

Andy's strong conviction lead him to leave the US in 2022 and join the Ukrainian Foreign Legion when Russia invaded Ukraine. He fought on the front line of the war for two tours, ultimately returning to Lviv where he donated hundreds of hours at the train station assisting Ukrainian refugees who were fleeing the country. He also volunteered working at a restaurant that fed Ukrainian refugees and volunteered teaching English to Ukrainian citizens at a local high school.

Andy's love for Ukraine prompted him to stay in the country permanently. His mom and dad were fortunate enough to travel to Ukraine for a visit last April. It truly is a beautiful country with amazing citizens.

Andy was a fan of the Minnesota Wild, UMD men's hockey and the Minnesota Vikings. He enjoyed snowboarding and hiking. He worked out daily at his gym in Ukraine, making international friends at the gym.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Helen Larrivy, Myron McDonald, uncle Larry Larrivy, cousin Karli McDonald, Godparents Butch and Barb Brisk. His fur babies - pitbull Cody and Ukrainian cat Luna.
