Jeanne Shirley Falconer, 95, died Friday, February 16th, 2018 at Marywood Assisted Living in Duluth. She was born in Duluth on May 31st, 1922 to Gladys and Roy Dennler.
Jeanne was a Duluth Central High School graduate and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota. After graduation, she took a post teaching Home Economics before enjoying a 20-year career as a dietician with St. Mary’s Hospital. After the conclusion of WWII, she married her sweetheart, who also happened to be the boy-next-door, Douglas Falconer. Together, they raised three children.
Throughout her life, Jeanne enjoyed many activities, such as: fishing, camping, boating, scouting, gardening, sewing, cooking for her family, playing cribbage and spending happy times with Douglas on their boat, in their vacation home in Florida, or in their own backyard.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband Douglas, their son Dwane, her parents Gladys and Roy Dennler, and younger brother Clifford.
Jeanne is survived by. her daughters Judy (Robert) Shykes of Fish Lake and Janet Falconer of Two Harbors; daughter-in-law Susan Falconer of Duluth; seven grandchildren. Zeke (Bonnie Lou) Goebel, Anntoinette (Troy) Lurz, Kelly Shykes, Cyndi Falconer, Paul Falconer, Charla (Joe Ziegler) Falconer, and Andrea Halligan; six great-grandchildren. Seth Shykes, Zachery Lurz, McKennan Lurz, Alexandra Lurz, Daulton Lurz, and Persephone Ziegler; and two great-great grandchildren. Avi and Orion.
Visitation. Friday, February 23rd, 2018 from 5PM–7PM at Forest Hill Cemetery Chapel. Visitation continues Saturday, February 24th from 10AM–11AM.
