Dan Dougherty is the owner of Dougherty Funeral Home and a lifetime resident of Duluth area. He
began working in the funeral home with his father and took over the business when his father
retired. He attended the University of Minnesota - School of Mortuary Science. Dan has been
a funeral director for 23 years.
Sharon Jugasek joined the staff of Dougherty Funeral Home in December of 1999 as Business
Manager. She is a lifelong resident of Proctor, a Duluth suburb. Sharon graduated from
the University of Minnesota - Duluth. She has worked in the funeral home business for seven
years.
Brett Andrews joined the staff of Dougherty Funeral Home in April 2004. . He is a lifetime
resident of Duluth. He graduated from the University f Minnesota - School of Mortuary
Science. . Brett has been a funeral director for 8 years.
Jim Stearns joined the staff of Dougherty Funeral Home in February of 2006. Jim is a
lifelong resident of Duluth. He graduated from University of Minnesota - Duluth and the
University of Minnesota - School of Mortuary Science. Jim has been a funeral director for
24 years.
David Dowd joined the staff of Dougherty Funeral Home in 1998. He has lived in the
Duluth area for over 40 years. He previously owned and operated his own funeral home and
brings over 40 years experience to our staff. He graduated from the University of Minnesota -
School of Mortuary Science. He is now retired and working on an at need basis.
Jim Gearns joined the staff of Dougherty Funeral Home nine years ago and works on an at need
basis. Jim is a lifetime resident of Duluth and a retired Duluth school district employee. He
graduated from the University of Minnesota - School of Mortuary Science. Jim has been a
licensed funeral director for 25 years.
